A co-curricular program for Central Valley students

Sparta Debate is a free speech and debate program for low-income middle and high school youth of color in California’s Central Valley. Students are taught speech and debate events in accordance with current NSDA (National Speech and Debate Association) standards. Among these events are limited preparation, platform, and interpretation events, as well as parliamentary debate, Lincoln Douglas debate, SPAR, public forum, and Congress.

Students are at minimum expected to attend one weekly speech and debate practice. Practices are virtual and will take place over Zoom.
